the Annual Texas Greeks Informational guide
As a part of the Dean of Student’s mission, the Sorority and Fraternity Life’s focus with on the UT Austin Greek organizations. Every year one of their goal is to inform incoming and returning students about official UT Austin Greek organizations available at the university.
The annual information guide provides very detailed information about each official university Greek organization, to give each student the opportunity to choose the best fit for them.
Annual branding Challenge
Having an annual information guide meant making sure it is unique and stands out from the previous year. A priority of the unit, was to always project a fun, inviting and light-hearted feel with their designs.
With the university’s strict branding, limited color palette and restricted trademark guidelines, this goal is always a huge challenge. Going through the process and moving through those hurdles to a design solution that satisfied the request, was always a rewarding feeling.
Interior Layout challenges
Everyone year comes with changes for each organizations. Chapters are added, chapters lose their status, members increase and decrease. What information is required to be displayed also changes, which means there a always need to make an adjustment to the layout.
Along with layout adjustments and the new cover design, the interior design would need to match the new feel. The information guide is an ever-changing challenge.
Speciality Design Pages
Along with the basic information of each chapter, the information guide included dry data. Demographic percentages, GPA standings, disciplinary status and more. This information needed to easily fit the branding of the year; visually pleasing and understandable at a glance.
Information Guide Brochure Mailer
Included in the booklet design, a similarly designed mailer would be sent out to students. This mailer was a very condense brochure version of the guide, with all official UT Austin Greek organizations. And just like the main document, the layout of the brochure needs to be strategically adjustment. While upholding the set branding guidelines.
